RE-BRIEF SLOVENIA Slovenia’s legal system has been modernized with a new legal remedy. Class-action lawsuits Act (ZKoT) has been published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia (55/2017) and it will become fully applicable in April 2018. An executive summary of key provisions and what it means for businesses will be published in one of our next reports, so stay tuned. There are two pending public consultations that we deem relevant and interesting: The Justice Ministry drafted new Personal Data Protection Act (ZVOP-2) that aims to bring it in line with with GDPR. Comments are due on November 13, 2017. The Agriculture Ministry has drafted an Ordinance establishing maximum levels of trans fat in food and comments are due till October 26, 2017. Please note that all texts are available in the Slovenian language only and should you need any guidance on these regulatory developments, contact me at barbara@auroraborealis.si.
